Things On My Mind A Lot Lately
It feels like we're on the edge of a pretty radical shift in the way products get made. Not just regarding Kickstarter but in the way they actually get made, not just sold. This is just a feeling. Some numbers here would be good. But for now, the Assumptions:
- We have yet to really see the effects of widespread CAD availability. (Are the proverbial kids taking advantage of this?)
- CNC machines and the robots to run them are at the point where enterprising individuals can make use of them.
- The internet enables easy marketing. Cottage industries that once struggled to find an audience can now do so cheaply.
- Niches abound.
